This policy explains how Hoskins for Mayor (“the campaign,” “we,” “us”), the campaign committee of Forest Park Mayor Rory E. Hoskins, handles information collected through roryehoskins.com and our email and text-message programs.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use our contact, volunteer or sign-up forms, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, ZIP code, street address (if you request a yard sign), mobile phone number, the ways you would like to help, and your message.
Consent records. If you opt in to text messages, we record the date and time, the web page, your IP address and browser type, and the exact consent wording you agreed to, so we can show that you asked to receive texts.
Contributions. Online contributions are processed by a third-party payment processor on its own secure website. It collects the information Illinois campaign-finance law requires (such as name, address, occupation and employer) and shares it with the campaign for reporting. We never see or store your card number. Check contributions are recorded by the campaign for the same reporting purposes.
Technical information. Our web host and network provider keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the site secure. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics on this site.
Embedded content. Our map page loads map tiles from Esri and the Leaflet map library from unpkg.com, and all pages load fonts from Google Fonts. These providers may receive your IP address when their content loads.

How we use it

To answer your message and connect you with the volunteer, event and yard-sign opportunities you asked about.
To send campaign updates, event invitations, volunteer opportunities and fundraising requests by email, and by text message if you opted in.
To comply with Illinois campaign-finance law and other legal obligations.
To keep the site secure and working well.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

with service providers who help us run the campaign (for example our web host and our email, texting and voter-contact tools), who may use it only to provide services to us; and
with the Illinois State Board of Elections and other authorities when the law requires it (for example, contributor information on campaign-finance reports).

Text messaging (SMS) privacy

If you check the text-message box on our forms, you agree to receive recurring automated campaign text messages from Hoskins for Mayor at the number you provide. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or contribution.

No sharing of mobile information. We will not share, sell, rent or transfer your mobile phone number or your text-message opt-in data and consent with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all of the sharing described above, except with the service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf.
Opt out anytime. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or email info@roryehoskins.com.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your choices

Email: use the unsubscribe link in any campaign email.
Text: reply STOP.
Access, correction or deletion: email info@roryehoskins.com and we will update or delete your information, except records we are legally required to keep (such as contribution records).

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are stored in a private database that is not publicly accessible and is available only to authorized campaign staff. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Village business

This is a campaign website, not a Village of Forest Park website. For village services, contact the Village of Forest Park.
