02 · Transit and the Blue Line

A voice for Forest Park in regional transit

Forest Park is the end of the line for the CTA Blue Line. Rory makes sure the village isn’t left with the bill.

  • Won state reimbursement for the village’s ambulance runs to the Blue Line terminal, included in the 2025 state transit bill. The village estimates those runs have cost it nearly $1 million a year. The Forest Park Review called it “Hoskins’ transit win.”
  • Appointed in 2026 to a five-year term on the board of the new Northern Illinois Transit Authority.

  • New music, arts and entertainment on Madison Street.

Cleaner development, more green space and a village ready for electric vehicles.

  • Wants a reasonable transit-oriented development there, with at least 75 percent of the land kept as publicly owned green space.
  • Turned the former Gleason’s auto dealership site, vacant for 20 years, into an EV site, with private dollars for beautification.
  • Won grants for electric vehicle charging stations.
  • Signed sustainability and green-space agreements with neighboring towns.
