Mayor Hoskins joins the Northern Illinois Transit Authority board

Campaign update ·

Mayor Rory Hoskins, in a blue plaid shirt, speaks at a lectern outdoors in front of a stone building.

Mayor Rory Hoskins now has a seat on the board of the Northern Illinois Transit Authority, the new agency that oversees transit across the Chicago region. Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle chose him for a five-year term, which began on September 1, 2026, according to the Forest Park Review.

Transit matters in Forest Park. The village is home to the western end of the CTA Blue Line, and the CTA has begun design work to rebuild the Forest Park branch. A seat on the regional board gives Forest Park a direct voice as those decisions are made.
